Exploring The Layers of Ted Baker’s New Collection

The smell of pumpkin spice lattes wafting through the air and warm, earthy color tones blossoming in window displays are subtle reminders that fall is just around the corner. As the season changes, so too should your fall fashion. Ted Baker’s Autumn/Winter 2021 womenswear and menswear collections will help you accomplish your wardrobe goals with ease.

Moving into autumn, the Ted Baker womenswear collection embraces a new way of living with a sense of optimism. Influences were taken from the youthquake and northern soul movements of the 60s and 70s, bringing fresh change in fashion, music, and art. The result is an authentic, youthful wardrobe which takes a fun approach to dressing.

A delicate color palette of nudes and blushes forms the basis of the collection, with bright accents of poppy, candy and mulberry featured throughout. Additionally, textures in the new collection are rich and varied, from classic 14 wale corduroy trousers to outerwear pieces in teddy borg fleece. Inspiration for a new, casual day-to-night wardrobe comes in the form of soft mesh jersey tops in a variety of blurred prints; layered under canvas trenches or worn with soft pleather trousers to showcase a body con silhouette. Elsewhere, ankle grazing denim with raw hem in ecru and washed slate grey is equally versatile, providing a muted foundation for conversational prints on oversized jacquard knits and voluminous sleeves.

Ted Baker’s color story continues with the additions of deeper and more intense hues, featuring lifts of violet and silver. Indulgent textures of faux fur, leather and satin feel familiar for the season, yet are styled with a contemporary twist. For example, jumpsuits have split-hem legs while double-breasted tuxedo jackets are dressed down with jersey cycling shorts for a relevant take on evening wear.

The brand’s menswear collection draws influence from the British music scene of the 60s, with a particular focus on the early Mod subculture. The new wardrobe has a relaxed and youthful feel, with specific focuses for soft tailoring, directional outerwear and leisurewear that cater to changes in our everyday lifestyle.

A capsule of check shirts, distorted argyle knitwear and photographic jersey pair effortlessly with relaxed trouser shapes, where loungewear sets are elevated by sharp outerwear styles including herringbone overcoats and sports-luxe puffers with oversized chest pockets in contrasting fabric. Tonal greys are lifted with vibrant hits of orange and new signature script branding.

As the season progresses, the menswear collection’s color palette becomes warmer; favoring deep tobaccos, rusts and olives, which reference global influences on the British music scene – from the Beatles exploring India to the Rolling Stones recording in Morocco. Fabrications are rich and varied, bringing an earthy depth to the collection, including Sherpa fleece and textured wools, cottons and nylons. Outerwear is heavier in weight with double faced wool coats and long

line pillow parkas, meanwhile knitwear is relaxed in shape with draped tie-waist cardigans. Shirting focuses on casual shacket shapes which match back to trousers in new base fabrics, with print creating a feeling of wanderlust in photographic dandelion and abstract camo.

Exploring the entire Autumn/Winter 2021 collection will transport you to New York City’s Central Park on a crisp fall day, where a subtle breeze hangs in the air and beautiful fall colors surround you.
