Artist Tim Tadder Creates Commentary with Colors

Art can be created and presented in a variety of shapes, sizes and forms, from a photograph or painting to a hand-crafted piece. No matter the complexity, each creation carries a powerful meaning – and here at Aventura Mall, we’re passionate about art and how it makes people think and feel. That being said, we’re always thrilled to share new pieces and collections with guests, and the latest series from Tim Tadder at Avant Gallery are no exception.

Tim Tadder was only in high school when he realized art played an irreplaceable role in his life. He knew it was a path he wanted to pursue and work toward on a daily basis, according to his interview with L.A. Weekly. A couple years after graduating from college, Tadder’s first large-scale exhibit debuted in 2017 at Miami’s Art Basel.

Described by the publication as a deeply personal, seductive and impactful artist, Tadder has created three photography series: Nothing To See, United States of Purple and Black is a Color. In each series, he skillfully uses the power of color to make “heartfelt commentary on the state of society.”

“We are thrilled to feature a wide selection of Tim Tadder’s most recent series, which have received so much buzz,” says Avant Gallery founder Dmitry Prut. “Visitors can view his fantastic photographic images on our gallery walls, including the newest color waves from Nothing to See, which launched exclusively at our Aventura Mall location.”

Tadder gains inspiration not only from the human condition and society, but also from elements such as sound and the environment. While working, he relies on notable musicians, such as the Grateful Dead and the Dead and Company with John Mayer, to motivate him. On the other hand, he also enjoys working under a calm and peaceful energy – making his decision to reside in a small beach community of Southern California a fitting one.

Like many, Tadder also looks to other artists for inspiration. He has shared that he is encouraged by the work of former artist Salvador Dalí. He has mirrored Dalí’s unique and abstract work, telling L.A. Weekly he feels as if they had the chance to work together, their pieces would juxtapose well.

Tadder partnered with Avant Gallery, meaning his work can be discovered and admired at the gallery’s location here at Aventura Mall!
