Ferrari’s Spring 2023 Collection is Hot to Trot

Ferrari

With the upcoming Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix around the corner, we turn our attention to the spring/summer 2023 collection from the supercar maker, who has recently been trusted onto the fashion scene. When it comes to merging style with racing, Ferrari continues to champion a lifestyle beyond the track with the unveiling of its third collection presented at a relatively intimate venue of the Teatro Lirico during Milan Fashion Week.

“I wanted to explore the myth of Ferrari through themes that have always fascinated me – travel, cinema and dreams – as transformed into notions of determination, passion and achievement,” explained Ferrari’s creative director Rocco Iannone. This was the new tone for a spring aesthetic after being inspired in the last two collections by the Prancing Horse’s engineering and style codes. This time around there is a focus on details, materials, and products informed by the brand’s 75-year heritage.

While a modern vision has taken to the circuit, the collection also features essential race motifs including a workwear-inspired men’s look in olive green. Jumpsuits, which are often known to be the official uniform of F1 race car drivers, have made a chic comeback in a selection of vibrant colors and leather material, perhaps a nod to the craftsmanship of the Italian brand. Menswear focuses on oversized suiting, where trousers and blazers feature relaxed tailoring. Cargo-like pants and box-cut collared jackets are elevated by the vibrant repeating patterns, as well as a fresh new color tone that pairs well with the typical feminine and masculine motifs.

This new direction matches the intention of brand’s Aventura Mall store, aka the second American boutique, following the new Ferrari store concept launched in 2021. The new space has been designed in alignment with the label’s existing boutiques in Maranello and Milan, Italy, and Los Angeles, and offers Ferrari’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections.

A film accompanies the collection, titled The Dream of Dreamers. This cinematic short, directed by Floria Sigismondi, see models traveling through a series of abstract and extreme settings. Set to a voice-over of Walt Whitman’s poem Carpe Diem, it enhances the collection’s exploratory references, examining what makes Ferrari an icon through a surprising lens well beyond cars.

You can check out the collection in person at the Aventura Mall. Expect to see few special Miami touches so emblematic of our city’s special place in the heart of the Ferrari brand and prepare to be blown away by the Ferrari’s sartorial savvy.
