Kim Kardashian Stars in Spring Balenciaga Campaign

Kardashian teased this first photo from the Spring 2022 campaign on Instagram on February 1; three weeks later, it had earned more than 1.735 million likes. Shown in a curve-hugging black jumpsuit, Kardashian plays with her influencer image as she’s depicted taking a selfie, while also showcasing two key accessories of the season: the signature Le Cagole bag, seen in a bright neon green, and the 90mm Sock Bootie, with its distinctive sculpted “Champagne” heel.

Kardashian brings the drama in head-to-toe black, including Balenciaga’s beautifully tailored Hourglass double-breasted coat and Bat Rectangle sunglasses – a look that punctuates the stark white crocodile-embossed leather of the Hourglass handbag, which has vaulted into genuine It-Bag status since the style launched in Fall 2019 and has been carried by A-list stars that include Miley Cyrus, Sarah Jessica Parker and Tracee Ellis Ross.

Gvasalia has interpreted the Hourglass coat in a lush leopard print for Spring 2022, and in Kardashian’s third photo of the campaign, she’s paired it with the Le Cagole shoulder bag and Cagole 90mm knee-high boots, both in black. Crafted of faux fur, the Hourglass coat takes its cue from the curved basque waistcoats that became a Cristobal Balenciaga signature in the 1950s. Its tailoring details include a peak lapel and nipped-in fitting at the waist that gives the Hourglass coat its name.
