New Restaurants for the New Year

Every new year brings resolutions – and if trying new restaurants made your list, you’re in luck: Aventura Mall’s dining lineup is growing with four new restaurants and eateries, ranging from internationally influenced and health-conscious options to celebrity favorites.

Here are a couple of our recently opened Miami-based dining establishments and two famous restaurants debuting in 2022:

Motek Café

Admired for its flavorful Israeli-Mediterranean fare, family-owned Motek Café invites patrons to transport themselves to the middle east via authentic dishes such as falafel, hummus, shawarma, malawach and more. Offering brunch, lunch, and dinner, as well as sweets and coffee, Motek’s menu features plates both big and small, making it a great spot for shared meals. The Miami-based owners sought to elevate Miami’s fast-casual food culture by bringing genuine, thoughtful, and delicious Israeli food to everybody without ever losing touch of the importance of freshness: Motek’s menu uses only the highest quality of ingredients. Better yet, the restaurant also pleases a plethora of palates and dietary restrictions: it is kosher-style and offers a variety of vegetarian options.

Motek is now open in the Outdoor Courtyard near the Aventura Slide Tower.

Carrot Express

More than an eatery, Carrot Express considers itself a wellness hub – and rightfully so! Founded in 1993 by Mario Laufer, who was passionate about cooking simple and healthy dishes with a lot of taste, Carrot Express has grown into a beloved South Florida spot for fresh, handcrafted food made with natural, high-quality ingredients. Don’t miss the acai and poke bowls, healthy burgers and wraps, salads with homemade dressings, and more. There’s a reason Carrot Express was recently named one of “The Absolute 12 Best Vegan Restaurants in Miami” by Pure Wow.

Carrot Express is open on the Lower Level across from Anthropologie.

Sugar Factory

A world-famous celebration destination known for over-the-top sweets and treats, Sugar Factory American Brasserie earned Food & Wine Magazine’s “Most Instagrammed Restaurant in the U.S.” designation for good reason. Diners can indulge in a range of exciting menu items such as Rainbow Sliders, Monster Burgers, Insane Milkshakes with names like Caramel Sugar Daddy Cheesecake, a nearly $100 King Kong Sundae that serves 12 people, and an array of colorful cocktails served in fishbowl-style cauldrons – the dishes are as photo-worthy as they are decadent. Additional menu items include towering salads and sandwiches, meat and seafood entrees, and pasta dishes.

Sugar Factory is now open on the Lower Level near Bloomingdale’s.

Toku Modern Asian

Experience a twist on a traditional 19th century Japanese home with ultramodern elements. Toku’s cuisine features a diverse modern Asian menu consisting of Japanese and Chinese inspiration with touches of Thai. An ideal spot for special, celebratory meals, Toku delivers a sharable dining style that promotes an interactive atmosphere complemented by signature, handcrafted cocktails. Already a beloved New York establishment, Toku embodies the ultimate dining experience, combining unparalleled culinary creations while providing exceptional service within an exciting ambience.

Toku Modern Asian is set to open this fall on the Upper Level.
