Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2024 collection hits the maison’s flagship store at Aventura Mall – one of the three locations in the Southeast to carry the collection – just in time for sunnier weather. A sartorial homage to the sun, the cheerful collection marks the debut of Pharrell Williams at the creative helm of Louis Vuitton and seamlessly blends the brand’s luxury DNA with his take on a mesmerizing fusion of style and culture. Not to mention is the right amount of color and zest to make the exciting event even that much more sensational.
Known for his incredible creative oeuvre, Williams’ first collection brings a vibrant and eclectic energy to Louis Vuitton’s latest offering. From neon hues to pastel tones and a new take on tradition, the collection is a celebration of individuality and self-expression that you now can get your hands on. For spring, Williams plays boldly with Louis Vuitton’s archetypal patterns. Employed in three hues across accessories, workwear, indigo denim, pajama silhouettes, in the intarsia of knitwear and furs, and in the jacquard of tailoring, Damier pattern morphs into Demoflage, a fun and fresh take on a classic as seen on ASAP Rocky, who was in the audience for the inaugural runway show in Paris. The outdoor sensibility of camouflage is echoed in colorized landscape motifs featured in prints and jacquards across blanket coats, blousons, pajamas, and shirting, and in coats and bags laser-cut all-over in the Louis Vuitton flower pattern.
Williams also reimagines the Damier in a series of new adaptations. There is the 8-bit Atari Damier motif created by the American pixel artist ET Artist as well as colored Damier expressions appearing in tailoring, pajamas, and denim. Jay-Z did a fine job sporting the look at the runway event that kickstarted Williams’ reign at Louis Vuitton. The grain of the Damier leather is interpreted in stitch-like 3-D pigment print in outerwear and tailoring. A pied de poule take on the graphic nods at the heritage men’s wardrobe, while a hand-embroidered Damier pearl decoration adorns tailoring, sportswear, and workwear. The Louis Vuitton initials become the emblem of a new culture of LVERS, a nod to Williams’s home state of Virginia, and mark the spot across jackets and accessories.
Look out for the dominating shape that includes shrunken volumes materialized in little cabans, contrasted by the occasional expansion of oversized, boxy trousers, and box-pleat shorts. Sharply-cut suits in classic but modern proportions set the tone for tailoring executed with the straight or flared sculpting of trousers. On the shoe front, a desire for comfort is crafted in shearling slippers in Monogram intarsia, with outsole embossed with a bear’s footprint. The collection debuts a nubuck bowling shoe, a magnified calfskin Mary-Jane, and an LV-crested leather hotel slipper in Damier pop colors. The new LV Sport sneaker is delivered in embossed Damier leather while the LV Trainer Maxi is adapted in nubuck crocodile in the colors of the collection. Glazed leather penny loafers and expanded leather loafers appear in crystal-encrusted variations, and the LV Snowboard boot is rendered in Damoflage-printed crocodile.
On your next visit to the Louis Vuitton store take note of new totes imbued with practicality. The new Speedy honors the trapezoid lines of the classic Speedy but appears in supple grained calf leather lined in the finest lambskin. The softened construction enables the bottom of the bag to collapse and drape the way it would through everyday wear. There are also plenty of new options on trunks and other soft leather totes that celebrate the new sartorial language. A standout includes the Alma bag that features the work of artist Henry Taylor.
