Gorillas in the Mist

True to Aventura Mall’s distinctive thematic, Gorillas in the Mist captures the interplay between form and function, space and substance, aesthetics and utility. An art installation, playground and fountain, the work consists of three large bronze gorillas–Djuna, Jasper, and Devendra–four bronze trees, and five marble benches.
Arranged under a canopy of trees and Interlaced by playful arches of cascading water, the gorillas grace the Mall’s central courtyard. Designed by the Haas brothers in collaboration with Factum Arte, Gorillas in the Mist is a portrait of key roles people play, as partners, friends, and children.
Dogs are not permitted in any of the Mall’s water features, including fountains, the Gorillas in the Mist art installation, or the Rainbow Valley Playground.
