Dressing for the Future: How Achieve Miami and Aventura Mall Uplift Tomorrow’s Leaders

True confidence is more than a mindset; it is having the tools, resources, and community support to step boldly into the future. Aventura Mall recently partnered with its longtime nonprofit partner, Achieve Miami, to once again host the annual “Best Look Forward” initiative.
This year, the immersive event took over the Upper Level of The Abbey at Aventura, welcoming more than 75 ambitious Achieve Scholars high school students for a transformative day of professional mentorship, career readiness, and personal styling before enjoying lunch at North Italia.
The primary goal of “Best Look Forward” is simple yet profound: to close opportunity gaps for high school students from underprivileged neighborhoods by teaching them how to dress for success and navigate the professional world. The event is designed to arm teens with the necessary skills and confidence to navigate upcoming milestone moments, such as college admissions interviews and entering the workforce.
From Classroom to Career
The morning kicked off inside The Abbey at Aventura, where students dove into interactive professional development workshops. To start, a dedicated professional etiquette session gave the high schoolers actionable insights on making a strong first impression. Next, an expert stylist took the stage, walking the students through how to construct appropriate wardrobe looks for college admissions interviews and job opportunities.
To bridge the gap between education and industry, a live career panel discussion brought Turnberry executives face-to-face with the students. The panelists shared personal career trajectories, offered industry advice, and answered direct questions about navigating the modern workforce.
Finding the Dream Wardrobe
Armed with new professional skills, the students transitioned into an exciting, hands-on experience: a curated shopping spree at H&M. With custom styling advice tailored to their unique tastes, each student explored the racks to select their own interview-ready outfits.
Walking away with a polished wardrobe not only gives these scholars tangible assets for future interviews, but it also provides an invaluable boost in self-assurance. Access to proper professional attire and workplace etiquette training can open vital doors for youth as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives. Through partnerships like this, students are given a strong foundation to build their professional networks and pursue their career ambitions.

Aventura Mall has been an unwavering champion for local youth, backing Achieve Miami since the nonprofit’s founding. This ongoing partnership reflects a deep corporate commitment to community equity, investing directly in the young leaders who will shape Miami’s economic and civic landscape.
Since its launch in 2015, Achieve Miami has worked to dismantle educational disparities across South Florida. Today, the organization has reached over 15,000 students across 260 schools and 45 distinct communities in Miami-Dade County.
