Arguably the most desired of all the seasons, Resort collections are possibly the happiest assortment of stylish pieces of the entire fashion calendar. Think of it as the “feel-good” season that delivers big on choices for travels to exotic shores or when you are hitting the chicest of slopes. This year, the designers’ presentations were filled with the most shoppable options. These ranged from ideas infused with a tropical flare carried through rainbow colors and novelty prints, many featuring exotic blooms and palm fronds, to luxe cashmere sweaters and sparkling knits. To turn your attention to some of the Resort’s standouts we tapped Aventura Mall’s stylists extraordinaire and private shopping guru, Kimmie Sussman, for her favorite five items you must add to your rotation.
“This color pop screams, “Take me to the ocean!” I love the sexiness and ease of this Fendi piece. Again, vacation dressing should be easy. Consider this piece for packing your suitcase with one hit wonders, like this jumpsuit.” With this resort collection, Fendi celebrated the 25th anniversary of its “Baguette” bag by heralding the spirit of collaboration, featuring co-designed elements from Tiffany & Co, Marc Jacobs and Sarah Jessica Parker. This Tiffany blue jumpsuit is available at Fendi.
“It’s refreshing to see a new spin from the beloved resort brand Zimmerman. I love wearing sets when on holiday. It makes getting ready quick and seamless.” This season the collection was inspired by photos of glamorous people in the 1950s and ’60s sailing. The direction is described as “beautiful, idyllic, romantic, relaxing.” High Tide crop bodice and nautical shorts in yellow available at Nordstrom.
“These Christian Louboutin Sandale Du Desert make pattern play easy by using this neutral palette. This print will add a playful touch to clean looks and the satin tie adds a unique shoe twist.” For resort Louboutin continues to explore his famous motif done in tone-on-tone pastel, simple black leather, satin print heels and opulent heels riffing on the lipstick heels that the designer introduced last season. The Sandale Du Desert in blue is available at Nordstrom.
“Love the chic and classic top from Carolina Herrera that can be paired with almost anything to give you a modern resort feeling. The hood detail offers a mysterious pop and it can also lay flat when you want to be less incognito.” For resort, Carolina Herrera’s creative director Wes Gordon said he imagined a trip to the Riviera—think ’90s supermodels shot by Helmut Newton and Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief. Hooded top is available at CH Carolina Herrera.
