For Fall/Winter 2024, Tory Burch reimagines everyday wear through a lens of architectural innovation, blending sharp lines, unusual textures, and technical sportswear details to create a collection that transforms the familiar into the extraordinary. Volume and silhouette take center stage, with angular dresses and squared-off skirts, echoing the geometric shapes of lampshades, contrasting against hyper-feminine jersey mesh dresses piled with unraveling ruffles and transparent skirts dusted with hand-painted sequins. The collection explores materials that alternate between refined and undone, from glossy faux croc and calf hair to paper leather, frayed wool, and sheer jersey mesh.
In a nod to the construction of handbags, seams are raw-cut, heat-sealed, and bonded, adding dimension without weight, a method borrowed from performance gear. This innovative approach allows for pieces like squared-off skirts and blazers to hold their structure while remaining unexpectedly light. The same precision is seen in the accessories, where the ergonomic Fleming Minaudière returns in 3D-printed faux acetate, designed to mold perfectly to the hip, and the new Pierced Pump, which is shaped with organic curves and a sculptural silver toe ring. Irreverent touches continue with a playful monkstrap flat featuring cut-out uppers and narrow buckles, blending masculinity and modernity.
Jewelry and accessories add to the collection’s concept of making the everyday sublime. Domed resin earrings pierce the lobe from back to front, while clusters of glass fruit necklaces turn grocery-store essentials into art. Shield sunglasses wrap dramatically around the face, and the looks are completed with sublime tights in ivory, black, and taupe, adding an unexpected layer of detail.
