Valentino is painting the town pink. The luxury Italian fashion house, led by Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli, partnered with the Pantone Color Institute to create a bold shade of pink for its Fall/Winter collection. Valentino’s “pink-out” at Fashion Week featured head-to-toe pink looks — each ensemble tied together with monochromatic accessories — that embodied unapologetic individualism. The long-awaited line debuts this September, bringing vivid pink handbags and shoes to Aventura Mall’s new Valentino boutique.
Valentino’s Pink PP collection is one significant factor in a looming fashion trend: Barbiecore. On the heels of the upcoming Barbie movie, starring Margot Robbie as the iconic doll, a profusion of pinks is rampant in the design world. Barbie has always represented a refreshing ingenuity and singularity – and we like to think Piccioli’s latest pink hue embodies the frankness of Barbiecore.
The creative director sought to create an experiment with color, stripping down an entire collection to a single hue. With Piccioli, less is never more. Even with a single color — something that would ordinarily feel constricted and without possibility — Valentino masters maximalism.
“The subtraction is, in fact, amplification, magnifying both the humans and the clothing,” reads Valentino’s statement on the new collection.
The accessories in the Pink PP collection aren’t just a side dish, they’re a recipe for fashion excellence. The pieces can create a jaw-dropping monochromatic look when paired with even more pink or can stand alone in their own magnificence.
Valentino’s shoes reach sky-high proportions with a series of platform heels, boots, and sneakers. Whether you’re adding to your closet in your own Barbie dreamhouse or wanting to add a color pop to a muted outfit, the shoes are statement makers.
Likewise, the bag collection is a bright and bold sensation. Valentino fans will recognize famous styles like the ‘Roman Stud,’ ‘Locò’ and ‘Rockstud Spike’ silhouettes.
These aren’t your average accessories. Belts and necklaces may feel like tiny touches – but with studs and shimmer, they carry the power to bring an entire look together.
Prepare to be pretty in pink. The recently opened Valentino boutique, dedicated to the fashion house’s iconic Valentino Garavani accessories, will carry items from the Pink PP line this fall. For more information, visit Valentino at Aventura Mall or call the boutique at 786-396-0112.
