Defined by the heat of summer, statement pieces and a suitably sun-drenched palette, the new collection celebrates Instinctive Glamour, coincidently the capsule’s title. Choi leans into the legacy to evoke that spirit with opulent embellishments, sexy silhouettes (hello major toe cleavage) and bold proportions. Summer wardrobe essentials are uplifted by a heightened sense of glamour; think metallic gladiator sandals (we are drooling over the gold Agave flat gladiator sandal), luxe beach bags and poolside-ready slides featured alongside the iconic heels and signature handbags.
The platform is key to this summer story, which takes delicate strappy sandals to new heights in the form of the new Cecelia and suede Gaia styles. These bold designs perfectly complement this season’s latest launch, the Avenue mini shoulder. Whether crafted in Nappa leather or cascading crystals, this covetable new shape can be styled for day or night. Elsewhere, the pearl-embellished Fayence and smoky moiré-crafted Indiya sandal will slide effortlessly into any summer wardrobe. Summer 2023 also delivers updated house pillars. From the high-octane Saeda platform to the beloved Bon Bon, which is reimagined in dégradé crystal and handwoven styles, many will delight in the revisited take on the much-loved classics.
“Love is always at the heart of what we do at Jimmy Choo – love for pieces, love for fashion, love for craft,” added Choi. “Here, I took inspiration from images of young lovers, the interplay between individuals, developing emotions, expressions of feelings. It’s something abstract but something spontaneous, instinctive, and instantly identifiable.” To embody these sentiments, Choo tapped Gisele Bündchen to star in the campaign, photographed by Carlijn Jacobs.
