Support Women’s History Month in Style

There’s power in being a woman. The late playwright Ntozake Shange once said, “Where there is a woman, there is magic.” Each March, the nation gathers to recognize Women’s History Month, reflect on the bold steps women have taken throughout history and envision where the future will lead. International Women’s Day on March 8 is an even larger celebration of womanhood, as they are applauded and uplifted around the globe in the name of progress.

Fashion brands, especially female-driven ones, are also joining forces to make their appreciation known. From luxury designers to a woman-owned athleisure empire, brands are showing up to empower women through style and philanthropy. Get decked out for all the festivities with these six brands launching exciting campaigns and designs to commemorate the month.

Tory Burch

Tory Burch’s story is a tour de force in the fashion world. Her notoriety as a fashion guru, designer and philanthropist landed her on Forbes’ list of most powerful women in the world in 2020. Burch’s storied career is an impressive one, and she is always looking to share her influence with other aspiring female entrepreneurs through the Tory Burch Foundation.

One hundred percent of proceeds from the Tory Burch Foundation benefit their work to empower women. $60 million in affordable loans have been given to more than 3,500 women entrepreneurs through their program with Bank of America, 450,000+ small businesses have been supported through free online resources and this March they have launched Tory Burch Empowered Women in partnership with Upworthy. They will choose one amazing woman a month to highlight – and she will receive $5,000 to give to a non-profit of her choice. Pomellato

For the last three years, the Italian jewelry brand has created “Pomellato for Women” videos, tapping A-list actresses, fashion icons, influencers, and activists to speak about equality, diversity and the need for action. In its fourth year, Pomellato presented a new powerful Pomellato For Women video, in a first-ever interview format featuring activist actresses Jane Fonda and Jameela Jamil.

Addressing hard topics such as inequality, privilege, bravery and female resilience, the two intergenerational personalities discuss activism, the climate emergency, white supremacy, and the rampant history of gender inequality. Vulnerability and the female burden are explored with radical honesty, yet they agree that there is hope with the power of the collective. As Jane Fonda says, “When we are together, and organized, that is how we are going to change the world.” Listen to the entire inspiring conversation between Jane Fonda and Jameela Jamil on the Women In Motion podcast by Kering and Pomellato on pomellato.com.

Camilla

The iconic print “Wonder Woman” launched on International Women’s Day featuring strong, resilient, fearless women including Camilla Franks herself along with Erin Molan, Khadija Gbla, Jessica Gomez and AJ Clementine. More on these incredible women can be found here.

Each piece in the Wonder Woman collection is emblazoned with vivid comic strip visuals featuring Wonder Woman’s signature motifs: stars, her tiara, her indestructible bracelets and her Lasso of Truth, mixed with those classic CAMILLA icons: the Jaggi tiger, fearless animal print and, of course, lots of embellishment.

Stuart Weitzman

When Stuart Weitzman designs a shoe, he thinks about the women who will wear it. The designer and shoemaker has a long history of celebrating females through International Women’s Day campaigns. The Spring 2021 Campaign, Footsteps to Follow, starring Stuart Weitzman global ambassador Serena Williams and her daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr. in their first-ever fashion campaign together. Hope and optimism are central to every SW x SW campaign and showcasing the powerful bond between mother and daughter in Footsteps to Follow highlights how every generation can inspire any generation — be it parents to children or vice versa — to step into each other’s shoes and step into new worlds.

Carolina Herrera

A true icon within the fashion community, Carolina Herrera paved the way to her global acclaim, overcoming barriers as a woman and a Latina. Her designs embody an elegance that captivates every runway. She’s known for dressing the First Ladies of the United States, including Jackie Onassis, Laura Bush, and Michelle Obama, in regal gowns – and those are just a few of the powerhouse women who have worn her dresses throughout history. Carolina Herrera spent 2020 raising donations for the Red Cross and Red Crescent for her Heart of Hope campaign. This month, she announced a $7 million commitment stemming from the efforts of her global fundraiser that donated 10 percent of every handbag and accessory sale to the cause.

On International Women’s Day, they announced a partnership with Dress for Success, a non-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools they need to thrive in work and in life.

Breitling

Lights, camera, double debut: Breitling presented their new Spotlight Squad as they launched the line of Chronomat 36 and 32 watches – for women of purpose, action, and style.

“Our inspiration for this new collection is the Breitling woman herself, as represented in our #SQUADONAMISSION campaign: a woman of purpose, action, and style who’s at the top of her game,” shared Breitling CEO Georges Kern. Some people have mastered the art of not only shining in the spotlight, but also shining their light on others and inspiring change in the world. Three of them are on the Breitling Spotlight Squad: Charlize Theron, Misty Copeland, and Yao Chen. These extraordinary entertainers are at the top of their game and have shattered the stereotypes clinging to their gender and respective fields. The three women are all philanthropists and trailblazers in their own right, setting the tone for a powerful campaign that celebrates strength and social impact.

Fabletics

Kate Hudson’s talent extends far beyond the big screen. The actress and founder of Fabletics has found a comfy home at the top of the athleisure industry. Her ultra-soft legging and stylish gym attire are definitely fab, but her dedication to women is even more impressive. Fabletics is highlighting women throughout the month of March with a charitable Instagram campaign supporting Girl Up and limited-edition tee – their way of showing the world that we’re on a mission to achieve equality. Together.

Women may not have faced the easiest road to get where they are today, but their stories are fit for the history books – and will continue to inspire future generations of young girls ready to change the world.
