The Museum
Accredited by the American Association of Museums (AAM) in 1979, The Museum is one of the largest private, regional history museums in the southeast U.S. It offers exhibitions that appeal to a wide audience interested in the South Florida and the Caribbean community, while at the same time engaging to residents and tourists alike.

Archives and Research Center
The HistoryMiami Archives and Research Center collects, safeguards, and makes accessible materials that document the Miami region, South Florida and the Caribbean. The collection includes a rare, complete double elephant folio edition of John James Audubon’s The Birds of America, as well as 6,000 bound volumes, 1,900 maps and more than one million historic photographs, making it one of the most important archival and research centers in the state.

South Florida Folklife Center
In a city known for its diversity, it comes as no surprise that a rich tapestry of influence is ever present. The HistoryMiami South Florida Folklife Center captures it all by documenting, presenting and supporting the region’s traditional arts and culture. Past projects have included Nicaraguan Folklife, Haitian Community Arts, Florida Folklife, Arts of the African Diaspora and more.

Education Center
The HistoryMiami Education Center is committed to serving South Florida’s students, teachers and adult learners through exciting and innovative programs. At the core of the Center’s mission is the promotion of critical thinking while creating an open environment to share and interpret Miami’s stories.

Miami International Map Fair
Uniting Map Dealers, collectors, hobbyists and aficionados, the Miami International Map Fair is an annual weekend event showcasing maps, land plans, rare books, panoramas and atlases from the four corners of the world. This unique special event also provides a robust lecture series that reaffirms the place of maps in society today.
