Wouldn’t it be nice to experience Miami rather than just live in it? Skip the airfare and venture to insurmountable beauty in your 15-mile radius outside of real world responsibility. We’re sharing our ultimate itinerary for the perfect Miami staycation.
Where to Stay
The team at Travel + Leisure magazine weren’t lying when they deemed Turnberry Isle Miami one of the “world’s best resorts.” The South Florida treasure is as opulent as they come, with sumptuous décor and luxurious accommodations. Set on 300 acres of tropical beauty, the surrounding landscape of Miami will easily detach you from the traffic on the congested Palmetto Expressway and the blaring car exhausts on Collins Ave.
Take your time making a hole-in-one at one of Turnberry Isle Miami’s 18-hole championship courses. Trade your daily rackets in for a tennis racquet at Cañas Tennis Center. You can even stay completely still for a change and float along the resort’s 1,600-foot lazy river. Looks can be deceiving; the resort feels like a far off destination even though you’re practically in your backyard.
Where to Unwind

Indulge in your mind and body at Fontainebleau’s Lapis Spa, a nationally acclaimed sanctum for the soul. Take in dramatic ocean views while being pampered with rejuvenating facials and ocean-inspired wraps. Melt away your worries with Lapis Spa’s mineral pools, massage-jet showers, and eucalyptus steam baths. Martha Stewart once called Lapis Spa “the most beautiful spa in America.” If it has Martha’s seal of approval, it’s clear to say it will have yours, too.
Where to Adventure

Laying out at the pool is all good and fun, but make your trip a true vacation by embracing Florida’s nature and wildlife. Enjoy a scenic ride as you paddle through mangrove-lined creeks and lagoons at Oleta River State Park. There are even full moon tours if you’re up for a late-night activity.
Where to Experience Culture

Our city is brimming with culture and art on every street corner. With so much virtuosity in our surroundings, it’s easy to take the beauty and craft of the city for granted. Take an afternoon to appreciate the vast amounts of incredible creations and knowledge available to South Floridians. Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is a staple for the intellectual seeking contemporary culture.
Each exhibition tells and story, often highlighting Miami’s diverse community and crossroads to the Americas. Once you’re done exploring the gallery walls, you can: enjoy waterfront dining at Verde restaurant, shop unique novelties at the museum’s gift shop, and take in the spectacular views of Biscayne Bay. Don’t forget to take the obligatory photo of PAMM’s lush hanging gardens.
Where to Dine

With a focus on all-natural, organic cuts of beef, slow-poached in butter, grilled and finished over seasoned wood-fueled flames, BOURBON STEAK reaches a new culinary caliber.
Quality food isn’t BOURBON STEAK’s only element of allure. Oenophiles can get their sip on with a selection of over 850 wines from the restaurant’s Wine Spectator Award-winning cellar. Admire the sophisticated design, relish in explorative cuisine, and enjoy the notes of rare merlots that are woodsy enough to match BOURBON STEAK’s deep-hued design.
