Flower Power for Spring

Fashionable flourishes and supple styles that were planted in our minds on the spring/summer runways are suddenly blossoming before us. As an ode to flower power, we’re turning spring into a season-long garden party hosted by a few of our favorite designers.

Delicate Daisies
Sweet daisy motifs have bloomed this spring in the form of delicate appliques and baubles. As a flower known for purity and innocence, the daisy’s bright white hue is a seamless way to transition into spring style. Slip on Ted Baker’s OLARA dress, embellished with petite 3D daisies, to conjure chic ’50s inspiration. The A-line dress, complete with a darling polka dot skirt, is demure enough for a springtime picnic or outdoor brunch.

Complement the adorable OLARA dress with Rebecca Minkoff’s floral camera bag and Kate Spade’s charming Pick a Posy drop earrings.

Sweets Camellia and Hyacinths

Try on Diane von Furstenberg’s floral wrap jumpsuit and feel yourself transport into a field of fresh camellias and hyacinths. As comfortable as it gets, the jumpsuit is 100 percent silk and comes with a detachable belt. From a morning at the farmer’s market to a date night by the water, we can name one thousand places to wear it this season. To highlight the hyacinth’s violet pigment, introduce a subtle and sweet amethyst Pomellato ring.

Fendi’s Dotcom bag could stand alone as a work of art. Versatile for long spring days, the quilted black leather handbag can be worn as a cross-body or toted in hand.

Flouncy Magnolias and Pansies

Magnolias stand for “femininity,” and pansies for “thought”— there’s no better combination for the independent woman. We could write a love letter to BCBG’s Mabel dress. Spotted with pansy prints, the dress is a flirty and flouncy pick for spring. Ruffles were a huge trend on the spring/summer runways, making the sophisticated design a season winner. Pair this lovely dress with Oscar de La Renta’s elegant magnolia necklace and blossoming ZAC Zac Posen wristlet for the full effect.

Artful Azaleas

There’s a reason azaleas are one of the most popular flowers in the country. Their precious pink hues found in voluminous fields immediately inspire a sense of happiness. To be quite honest, that’s the same sense of joy we had when we spotted Michael Kors’ sweet sheath dress. The azalea print motif reminds us of the era of flower power and peace. We adore this ’60s print that is an uncanny match to Longchamp’s leather charm bracelet. Emulate the dress’ floral print with a neutral option, like the Coach’s Rogue Pebble Tea Rose Bag.

Dainty Buds & Cherry Blossoms

If the changing season makes you want to twirl with excitement, look no further than RED Valentino’s pleated bouquet faille skirt. The full skirt and carefully constructed pleats allow for balletic movement that flows with your every twist and turn. Swarovski’s dainty “Deary” pendant provides charming sparkle to the classy ensemble. To add a little bit of edge to the soft ensemble, opt for Givenchy’s black leather floral print tote. Reminiscent of cherry blossoms, this floral motif will signal the time for spring renewal in the most stylish way possible.

Blooming and Bold Bouquets

Who ever said bouquets had to belong in a vase? Adorn yourself with bold roses, verdant vines, and tulips that will never wilt this spring. Burberry’s lace shift dress adapts high fashion for high tea. The clean, understated silhouette is enhanced with intricate floral needlework set atop lavish Italian-woven lace. Unlike many floral collections, Burberry takes a vibrant approach that melts into the landscape of South Florida’s sunshine and beaches.

Similar in pattern and concept, Gucci has nailed the contemporary espadrille with vivacity and grace. The shoe’s embroidered vine grows from heel-to-toe, thriving with tulips. The white leather shoe is set on a braided jute platform, befittingly roped together in a pattern that reminds us of sailor knots and Miami’s love affair with the sea.

Unapologetically bohemian, Tory Burch loves to adopt bold resort style and vacation-ready glamour in each collection. The enchanting trimmings of her new embroidered floral cross-body transport its wearer to a seaside oasis, ornamented with palm trees and sea shells. Her handcrafted folkloric beading and tassels elevate her design into a striking festoon of fresh spring blooms.
