Founded by accomplished pastry chef Monique Font Delacroix, ArtPie is a celebration of international cuisine that elevates the concept of the meat pie to gourmet status.
A longtime Aventura Market favorite, ArtPie is set to open a permanent location at Aventura Mall this fall. For now, visitors can savor Delacroix’s specialties at the Market, which is open Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 8pm.
ArtPies are reminiscent of empanadas in terms of form but are not limited to one specific culture or ethnicity.
“Many cultures have their own variations of this concept, so we celebrate that,” said Delacroix.
ArtPie offers more than 40 flavors and combinations, all of which are named after “grand dames”—i.e., historical female figures who inspire Delacroix.
The “Audrey Hepburn,” for instance, includes mushrooms, mozzarella and a blend of secret seasoning.
For regal spirits seeking a more exotic flavor, the “Cleopatra” features organic chicken, curry, fresh mango, and Delacroix’s special seasoning blend.
Other pies utilize delectable fillings, such as crème patisserie, chorizo, and organic turkey.
Each is handmade using high-quality, organic ingredients and pairs well with specialty coffee, wine, beer and other natural beverages.
A graduate of culinary institutions in France and Italy, Delacroix is constantly introducing new innovations to her pies, including vegan dough.
“We make it so every customer has a menu item they will like, including vegans and vegetarians,” noted Delacroix.
ArtPie will debut its standalone location on the lower level near JCPenney this fall. For more information, call (305) 935-1110.
