Pleats Please

November 15, 2018

Reading Time: < 1 minute

From the chorus line to center stage, here come the knife-pleats, high-kicking their way into your new season with uncompromising attitude.

No longer paired with a delicate blouse and a row of freshwater pearls – designers displayed their alternative ideas that saw pleats go from frumpy and outmoded to fierce and fabulous. Seen worn with trousers at Valentino, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli styled a scarlet pleated midi and matching colored trousers with a clashing tailored look of magenta. Pleats came deconstructed and avant-garde with chunky-soled creepers at Gucci, while vibrant fluffy jumpers and a bike chain of a necklace edged up a pleated skirt at Balenciaga. These pleats have bite and many brands at Aventura Mall can prove it.
