Another year is behind us, which means PANTONE has made its big reveal. Each year, PANTONE forecasts the color trend of the year and ushers in a visual moment of reflection. Priding itself on its menagerie of pigments, Pantone’s color experts at the Pantone Color Institute™ looks to the world for influence. This year, Pantone revealed Very Peri to represent the road ahead. You’ll be seeing a lot of this periwinkle in 2022, so buckle up for everything you need to know about the color.
Pantone calls its Very Peri “a symbol of the global zeitgeist of the moment and the transition we are going through.” As we move through the waves of the era, our physical and digital worlds are becoming more enmeshed than ever before. “Digital design helps us to stretch the limits of reality, opening the door to a dynamic virtual world where we can explore and create new color possibilities,” said Pantone in an announcement.
Tried and true blue is a trusted color, but when infused with violet-red undertones it creates a new future within Very Peri. “Very Peri displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression,” says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute.
From exploring virtual reality in the work place to trends in gaming and tech, Very Peri wants to embody the modern union of the online metaverse with the real world.
