Achieving gender equality is a global endeavor, and luxury fashion brand Gucci is ramping up its efforts to support this important movement through its CHIME FOR CHANGE campaign. Founded in 2013, CHIME FOR CHANGE seeks to convene, unite and strengthen the voices speaking out for gender equality around the world.
This year, the company launched a new campaign identity, “To Gather Together,” that was revealed on Gucci’s ArtWalls in London, Milan, New York, Taiwan and Hong Kong. It featured silhouettes of human figures, unidentifiable by gender or other labels, standing together. Gucci also published a new magazine called CHIME zine, which includes contributions from activists, artists and writers from across the globe. A digital version of the magazine is hosted on the CHIME FOR CHANGE website at www.chime.gucci.com.
Additionally, Gucci is partnering with GlobalGiving to support several new projects that will add to its roster of 425 existing nonprofit programs throughout 89 countries. These programs directly benefit more than 570,000 girls and women, and reach more than three million community members.
The organization’s fully-funded projects support several groups in a variety of ways, from helping Syrian refuges access healthcare through Doctors of the World and sending 30 girls in Houston, TX to Camp Smart through Girls Inc., to showcasing the stories of sex trafficking survivors through Equality Now.
With the organization’s co-Founders Salma Hayek Pinault and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter at the helm, along with a strong coalition of founding partners and partner organizations, Gucci’s CHIME FOR CHANGE is poised to continue inspiring and celebrating change in 2019.
