Though the meals get quite the play around the holidays, one’s cocktail game is as important as the baked ham or latkes. So probably you are not the only one who’s libation repertoire need some sprucing. Get into the spirit of things with these five festive drink recipes, perfect for all your parties and get-togethers this jubilant season.
3 ounces quality bourbon whiskey
1 ounce cranberry simple syrup*
3 shakes Angostura bitters
Garnish with orange peel, Ocean Spray® Fresh Cranberries, and rosemary
In a serving glass with ice, stir together the bourbon, cranberry simple syrup, and bitters.
Garnish with orange peel, fresh cranberries, and rosemary.
¾ ounce sweet vermouth
1 ½ ounce thyme infused simple syrup
2 1/2 ounce bourbon whiskey
one dash orange bitters
Quarter one fig. In shaker, muddle quartered fig & thyme infused simple syrup.
Add ice, vermouth, bourbon & orange bitters.
Shake cold, and strain into chilled coupe. Half remaining fig and use as garnish.
1 tbsp. chocolate syrup
1 tbsp. graham cracker crumbs
1 oz. vodka
2 oz. baileys
2 oz. 2% milk
Place your marshmallow in a small pan, over medium heat, and toast until browned (1-2 minutes). Meanwhile, rim a lowball glass with chocolate sauce, and dip immediately in graham cracker crumbs. Fill your cocktail shaker with ice, toss in the vodka and bailey’s and shake vigorously (the longer the better. It should be FREEZING cold and well agitated).
Place 2-3 ice cubes in your glass, pour liquor mixture over top, fill the rest of the glass with milk, top with toasted marshmallow and enjoy!
2 750ml bottles Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay
3/4 cup sparkling apple cider
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup cranberries, halved
3/4 cup cranberries, whole
1 Granny Smith apple, chopped
3 rosemary sprigs
Garnish: rosemary sprigs
Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher.
Stir together with a large wooden spoon to help the sugar dissolve.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
Serve chilled with a garnish of rosemary sprigs. Make sure to get some of the fruit in every glass!
1 1/2 ounces citrus vodka
1/4 ounce triple sec
1/4 ounce white cranberry juice
1/4 ounce fresh lime juice
apple slices for garnish
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all ingredients; shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with an apple slice cut in the shape of a snowflake.
