With fashion capitals ablaze with ideas, Milan forte has always leaned towards opulence and the unapologetic celebration of luxury. These ideas were on display for fall 2019 season, with Italian designers embracing even more lush fabrics and ornate details. We take a peek at three brands available at Aventura Mall, the best shopping mall in Miami.

Versace’s lineup for Fall/Winter 2019 included styles reminiscent of the collection that skyrocketed founder Gianni Versace to superstardom in the early ’90s. Current creative director Donatella Versace paid homage to some of her brother’s iconic creations, including strappy bondage gowns, silky baroque prints, vivid colors, and even graphic tees with Richard Avedon prints. Nineties era Versace was additionally referenced on the runway when Stephanie Seymour, one of the original Versace models, closed out the show.

For his fall/winter 2019 Milan show, Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele pulled from his deep love of all things ancient and androgynous with a theme of otherworldly masks. As usual, Gucci spared no expense, even sending out invites to the show in the form of 3D plaster masks. Gucci continued its recent march of androgynous looks with boxy suiting for both men and women, paired with thick vintage ties and shirting collars. There was also the signature eclectic mashup of colors, styles and textures. Sequined spangle, flirty ruffles, peplum jackets and pussybow blouses contrasted with sharp tailoring, plaids and menswear fabrics.

Titled “Eleganza,” Dolce & Gabbana’s show focused on the Italian house’s most famous signatures. It was divided into 11 segments — and included a whopping 127 looks total — as an announcer narrated the backstory of each one. for the Dolce & Gabbana client, this was a winning show—a full day-to-night wardrobe of time-tested looks, minus the athleisure, streetwear, and mega hype tat usually accompanies brand’s presentation.
