For Women’s History Month we are taking some time to celebrate brands that are working hard to empower women through exceptional social initiatives. Of the many brands dedicated to enriching and elevating the lives of women all over the world, we’re thrilled to highlight five that are going the extra mile to inspire, celebrate, support and empower women around the world. We hope you’ll be just as excited about their initiatives as we are!
The Tory Burch Foundation aims to empower women entrepreneurs by bringing together activists, performers, and corporate leaders, and by raising a battle cry to challenge traditional gender bias. Among other great services, the Tory Burch Foundation provides women entrepreneurs easy access to capital to jumpstart their businesses, mentoring and networking opportunities with industry leaders, plus business and management education in partnership with Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.
In 2006, this iconic brand launched the Cartier Women’s Initiative in partnership with INSEAD Business School. The goal was to identify, support and encourage businesses spearheaded by women. To do this, the project hosts a competition every year open to female entrepreneurs from seven global regions. Winners receive hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money, plus scholarships and ongoing support for the growth of their businesses. Since its inception, the initiative has helped change the lives of 219 women entrepreneurs in 51 countries.
Salma Hayek and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter are the two female powerhouses behind Gucci’s CHIME FOR CHANGE, a global campaign dedicated to “convene, unite and strengthen the voices speaking out for gender equality.” Since its inception in 2013, the campaign has raised nearly $16 million for support initiatives around the world. The stats are impressive, to say the least — to date, CHIME FOR CHANGE has positively impacted the lives of more than 570,000 women and young girls on a global scale.
