Aventura Mall Experience Defined By Cultural, Style & Taste
O’Connell & Goldberg, Inc.
Aventura Mall continues its remarkable evolution with a new three-level wing that offers an array of interactive experiences, as well as a continually expanding line-up of unique shops and restaurants.
Designed by renowned architect Carlos Zapata to invoke transparency, connectivity and integration, Aventura Mall’s new wing provides visitors a truly unique experience. An 84-foot by 50-foot glass entrance brings the “outside in” with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. It continues with an uninterrupted, 350-foot-long skylight that provides the wing with abundant natural light.
One of America’s most-visited shopping centers, Aventura Mall provides a creative, dynamic environment. As Jackie Soffer, Co-Chairman and CEO of Turnberry Associates, owner and manager of Aventura Mall, points out: “We’re always innovating to stay ahead of the curve.”
When it comes to visual appeal, the new Aventura Slide Tower by German artist Carsten Höller literally soars above the South Florida landscape. Visitors arriving to the new wing are awed by the monumental, nearly 93-foot tall, artistic spiral creation. Renowned worldwide for his large-scale art pieces, Höller’s Aventura Slide Tower is not only a towering landmark, it’s an exhilarating slide the artist likens to “an emotional state…somewhere between delight and madness.”
And while Aventura Slide Tower can dominate a visitor’s attention, it’s not the only new artwork to enthrall visitors. Adjacent to the Slide Tower is Gorillas in the Mist created by The Haas Brothers. Three larger-than-life bronze gorillas and four massive bronze trees circulate and spray water around the whimsical outdoor fountain – an artistic display that captures the imagination of children of all ages.
The two new additions to the Arts Aventura Mall collection are surrounded by a collection of al fresco dining experiences including CVI.CHE 105, Pubbelly Sushi, Genuine Pizza by James Beard Award winner Michael Schwartz, Tap 42 Craft Beer Bar & Kitchen, Le Pain Quotidien and Blue Bottle. International Smoke, a collaboration between lifestyle expert and bestselling cookbook author Ayesha Curry and chef Michael Mina, opens fall 2018.
Inside the wing, visitors enjoy Serafina, the famed Italian eatery and globally recognized hotspot, which also features indoor and outdoor dining, and Rosetta Bakery, which offers small batches of sweet and savory baked items, including Italian breads, pastries and sandwiches.
On the third level is a well-curated food emporium – Treats Food Hall, which is home to Miami’s first Figs + Mozzarella by Todd English, Shake Shack, Zuuk Mediterranean Kitchen, Luke’s Lobster, and a number of eclectic additional local and national eateries.
A shopper’s paradise, the wing is home to a two-level Topshop Topman, the global retailer’s first standalone in Florida, and a two-level ZARA, offering the international fashion brand’s latest global concept and its newest Woman, Basic, TRF, Kids and Man collections.
Plus, Aventura Mall continues to welcome luxury boutiques to its growing, already substantial lineup. Jimmy Choo will open a boutique in fall 2018, joining new retailers Carolina Herrera, Furla, John Hardy, and Bond No. 9. Aventura Mall’s Gucci features the brand’s new concept store and a full line of children’s clothing, as well as women’s ready-to-wear, men’s and women’s shoes, handbags and more. Additional luxury retailers include Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Burberry, Fendi, Givenchy, CHANEL Fragrance & Beauty, Bally, Breitling, Tiffany & Co., and Rolex.
And while Aventura Mall visitors are thrilled about the new shopping options, they also enjoy a multitude of dining destinations, as well as viewing and interacting with more than a dozen installations by renowned artists.
Soffer notes that public art and a sense of community define Aventura Mall.
“We’ve created a gathering place that celebrates creativity and provides a venue where people can appreciate transformative works of art that typically are reserved for galleries and museums,” she said. “Aventura Mall is a place for so much more than just shopping.”
