AVENTURA MALL HOSTS “PAWS FOR ART” EXHIBITION BENEFITING FOUNDING FOSTERS OF THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF GREATER MIAMI
More than 50 sculptured dogs and cats adorn the mall’s Fountain Court from Feb. 28 through March 7 to benefit the Founding Fosters
AVENTURA, Fla. – (March 7, 2013) – Aventura Mall welcomes more than 50 artist-designed dog and cat sculptures in a special exhibit to benefit the Founding Fosters, a support group founded by Bella Goldstein and dedicated to raising funds for the development and support of foster care programs at the Soffer and Fine Adoption Center. Created with papier-mâché, technology pieces and other items, the life-size pets will be on display in the mall’s Fountain Court Feb. 28 through March 7.
A private VIP auction and gala, set in a beautifully created central park, will close the exhibition on March 7 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Doree & Honorable Malcolm Fromberg will be honored at the event, as CBS Miami’s Entertainment and Lifestyle Reporter Lisa Petrillo hosts the evening. Artist Clara Poupel is the Curator and Creative Director who brought together artists featured in the exhibit, including: Alan Londin, Andrea Lopez Kelly, DiVitto Kelly, Annemarie Burton-Rosenzweig, Benedicte Blanc-Fontenille, Carlos Falchi, Claude Charlier, Doree Fromberg, Frances Kiperman, Jacqueline Ripstein, Jane Swergold, Janie Casoria, Joyce Chadroff, Marcus, Nadine Egan Floyd, Raul M. Quispe, Romero Britto, Ruben Marangone, Sandi Levy, Sheila Elias, Sophie Benaiche Markowicz, Stephanie Bloom, Tania Oliveria, and Valerie Halper.
Pets of Miami Herald Columnist Dave Barry, CBS4 Anchors Dave Bernard, Eliott Rodriguez, and Shannon Hori, Channel 10’s Glenna Milberg and Jacey Birch, WSVN 7 Anchors Belkys Nerey, Craig Stevens, Louis Aguirre, and Lynn Martinez, as well as NBC 6’s Adam Kuperstein, and Telemundo’s Denise Isaac will be featured in the exhibition.
The Humane Society of Greater Miami has been helping the abandoned animals in Miami-Dade County since 1936. Today, more than 300 homeless dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are cared for every day at the Soffer and Fine Adoption Center in North Miami Beach. The center is able to give these animals a second chance by providing food, shelter, and medical care for as long as it takes to find them a kind and loving forever home.
