AVENTURA MALL NAMES DAVID LYDIA TOURISM MANAGER AND MONICA GLUKSTAD MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGERAVENTURA, Fla. – (Dec. 2, 2013) – Aventura Mall, Miami’s premier fashion destination, has named David Lydia Tourism Manager and Monica Glukstad Marketing and Communications Manager.
With a well-rounded background in tourism, marketing and sales, Lydia joins Aventura Mall with previous experience as group sales manager for The Palms Hotel & Spa in Miami Beach. In this role, he was responsible for corporate association and leisure group business in the Northeast, Midwest and Northwest regions. Prior to The Palms, Lydia was Corporate Sales Manager for the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and National Sales Manager of Domestic Tourism and Visitor Services for the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau.
As Tourism Manager, Lydia is responsible for developing and executing Aventura Mall’s visitor outreach programs. He will maintain strong business relationships and develop innovative partnerships, both domestically and internationally. Lydia graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a minor in International Affairs. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Glukstad most recently served as Senior Analyst for Burger King Corporation where she managed the brand’s public relations and communications program in 28 Latin America and Caribbean markets for more than 1,100 corporate and franchise restaurants. Prior to joining Burger King, she was a Senior Account Manager at Edelman and Account Executive at The Jeffrey Group public relations agencies.
As Marketing and Communications Manager, Glukstad develops and implements marketing strategies to the enhance brand awareness and increase sales at Aventura Mall. She oversees advertising efforts, web content, public relations, social media, and other forms of communication on an internal and external level. Glukstad holds a Master of Arts, Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Barry University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from the University of Miami.
